Julia Prier is a Research Officer at The Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity, University of Melbourne. Julia obtained her PhD from The University of Melbourne in the laboratory of Laureate Prof Peter Doherty and Prof Stephen Turner, before taking up a post-doctoral position with Dr Laura Mackay. For a number of years, Julia has been researching the epigenetic mechanisms that regulate protective viral T cell immunity. Most recently, Julia has been at the forefront of research into Tissue-Resident Memory T cells and their involvement in skin immunity. Her current research focuses on the molecular events that govern early cell fate decisions on peripheral lymphocyte differentiation and how we can harness early pre-committed cells in protective peripheral immunity to viral infections.
